No link from old JAWS URL

Post by anifan »

Very sticky. :? :?: Somehow, we still haven't linked from the old JAWS URL to the new one. The old one still works on Google:

http://members.shaw.ca/nekosei/

We also need to link to DOA and Anime Alberta etc., as these orgs still seem to have our old URL and not the new one. No wonder we're still sitting by our lonesomes and starved for new members. :( I think that tigergirl can help out in this regard.

I've been waiting until I finish redesigning the new site before sending worrying too much about the links not pointing here.

No link from old JAWS URL? + other comments

Well, I think as long as we have a reaonably decent functioning website otherwise - which has been the case - that we still have to consider all along this alternative in attracting both new and old members.

At any rate, Anime Alberta still links to Karl's old site - and it now has a working link to ours. So JAWS can still get hits indirectly - and now from the old URL.

Another weird glitch that has happened, is that you can use our new URL - but ONLY if you DON'T click on the Google Canada option!!

I did want to report another problem. Whether you use a search engine or go from the Anime Alberta link, you will get a "second home page" for JAWS. Then, only if you click on the top Phin Phin icon (not one of the SDs) - which is NOT marked in any way - will you get the other JAWS home page, which links you to the Forum page. Please fix this. We need some kind of Phin Phin SD icon - I suggest that we close down the Library, as this listed Karl's stuff on commercial DVDs and is no longer available to JAWS members (you had to become a close friend of Karl's too to borrow it). Then we can borrow this old Library icon with SD Phin Phin watching a TV - which looks close enough to a computer, which is what you use for webforums anyways.

Still another weird thing: the homepage that you get, has the new JAWS President's e-mail address - the other one doesn't - but continues to have an even older showing date than the other home page. One JAWS home page only please! We also have to become diligent in updating the showing dates and shows in various places on the site.
