As of the end of June 2012, JAWS was no longer able to meet at the Sentry Box, which we had been doing at various of its locations for many years.
As a result of this situation, JAWS has been meeting in temporary locations. Members have generously volunteered their apartments.
Today we have made a final decision and booked a new location, after an extensive search, and receiving our Certificate of Incorporation as a non-profit society this month, from the Government of Alberta.
The new JAWS meeting place is at the Eau Claire Market's Community Meeting Room, located centrally downtown; this is in the lobby of the former Imax Theatre there. Late hours access is through the East doors by Good Earth cafe. There is a food court there as well.
Please bear with us as we will be changing the specific information on the website in the coming weeks. Ignore the info about the Sentry Box under "Where & When", and see the post about the 2013 schedule there and under "Schedule" monthly.
NOTE: As we encountered a very heavily booked room, we were sometimes unable to get optimal times, meaning weekends - some of our meetings are on holidays instead. This should change when the 2014 bookings open up later this year, and we should be able to get the desired Saturday afternoon/evening time slot on the last day of almost every month - barring directly competing events such as the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo in April.
Thank you for continuing to support JAWS, and we hope to see you at future meetings.
Updates about the Site and JAWS can be found here.
